Womanhood, Motorsports and the Revolution of Fun: How ‘Your Mom Races Rally’ Is Inviting Women Drivers to Come Together
Carrara Media is proud to present a panel discussion on International Women’s Day inspired by our newest book, Your Mom Races Rally by Kelly Conroy, a motorsports memoir now available for preorder here. The panel will take the issues and motivating messages in the book, and bring them to life. And we want you to join us.
Your Mom Races Rally is the story of how Conroy regained her sense of self through motorsports. How did she do it? Learning to be ok with putting herself first, making room for joy in her life no matter what, and finding a community of women in motorsports who were willing to help.
All of that and more will be on the table during the panel. Our event, Womanhood, Motorsports, and the Revolution of Fun, is scheduled for Sunday, March 8th in the Arts District of Los Angeles. The event is free to attend. We encourage reservations as seats may fill quickly. To RSVP, click here.

Mara Balatas McIlwrath (Creative Director, Hearst Autos): Mara is a creative director and storyteller focused on cars, motorsports and the culture around them.
Elana Scherr (Senior Features Editor, Car And Driver): Elana is an automotive journalist and video host known for her deep technical knowledge and clear, confident storytelling.
Leslie Hanna (Automotive Content Creator): Leslie is a lifelong automotive enthusiast best known for restoring her 1985 Toyota MR2, making cars less intimidating to women everywhere.
Copies of Your Mom Races Rally will be available for purchase and autographs from the author.
Our hope this International Women’s Day is to encourage women everywhere to explore motorsports as a source of joy and community. There is a vast and vibrant network of women currently carving their own amazing paths in car culture. Everyone is welcome to join whether they’re experienced off-roaders, burgeoning open-wheel racers or simply curious and looking for fun.
We chose the event name Womanhood, Motorsports, and the Revolution of Fun because this event is not limited to those seeking a career in automotive pursuits, or looking to get serious about racing. It is for anyone looking for connection and shared passions.
